Interview With Wendy Higgins (Author of Sweet Trilogy)

WHO IS WENDY HIGGINS?

Wendy Higgins is the USA Today and NY Times bestselling author of the SWEET EVIL series from HarperTeen, the high fantasy duology THE GREAT HUNT, her independently published Irish Fantasy SEE ME, and her indie NA science fiction UNKNOWN series.

After earning a Creative Writing degree from George Mason University and a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from Radford, Wendy taught high school English until achieving her dream job as a full-time writer.
Wendy lives on the Eastern Shore of Virginia with her husband, daughter, son, and little doggie Rue.









Interview:

Me: Okay,  First of all, thank you for accepting my interview offer.

The 'Sweet Trilogy' you wrote is very popular both Turkey and in the world, and people are absolutely in love with Anna and Kaidan characters, especially Kaidan. Have you ever guessed that you will have such a big fan? Is it hard to get used to this attention?

WH: Hi Aleyna!

I never imagined I would have such a large following for my stories! I wrote the story that was on my heart - I could not stop thinking about Anna and Kaidan. I am so glad that other people can relate to their struggles and their love. And it means so much to me that readers on the other side of the world are connected to me in such a way! I am honored and blessed. Thank you!

In other books you wrote (Eurona Duology, See Me, Unknown Trilogy ...) was very much read and loved by readers. What is the secret of your success? And what is your source of inspiration?

WH: The secret to my success is letting my imagination run wild, and praying daily for ideas and inspiration. I'm definitely inspired by my faith, and by life all around me - the people I meet, the things I see, the sounds I hear - everything in life lends itself to a story.

Me: What do you like about your job? Is there anything bad about your job ?

WH: I like interacting with readers and other writers. I love getting to live inside my imagination and be as creative as I want. I guess the only bad thing would be that the industry trends don't always match what I feel like writing. I want to write paranormal, but none of the publishers want it. Financially, I don't always feel secure as a writer.

Me: Your books are very popular in Turkey. Your Turkish readers - including me - want to meeting you. Have you ever came to Turkey or will you come to Turkey?

WH: I would LOVE to come to Turkey, but it is very expensive. If the publisher was willing to send me, I would definitely go! I love to travel, and meet readers!

Me: Next year your new book that named 'Kiss Collector' will meet the reader. Obviously, I have read the subject of book and am already very excited about this book.

What do you want to tell us about this book?

WH: Kiss Collector is loosely based on the high school I attended, and on experiences I had with my friends as a teen. It was so much fun to revisit all of the emotions of young adulthood. 

Me: Lastly, is there anything you want to tell me and your readers here?

WH: I love you! I hope I can meet you someday! Thank you so much for all of your excitement and support. Sending hugs and kisses!
